DARK FUNERAL Guitarist: New Album Is 'Far Beyond Hyper-Speed'
June 18, 2005DARK FUNERAL guitarist Lord Ahriman has posted the following studio update in the "Forums" section of the band's official web site:
"Week four completed. And finally we we have all the 8 songs planned for this album written and arranged!
"Yes, you heard right. Last week we finally managed to put together the last 3 songs that's gonna appear on our new, yet untitled Satanic Symphony.
"So, what then can I say about the last three songs we have written for this album. Well, you're sure in for a treat this time I tell you. I hope you like symphonies of pure evil and lots of blast beats. If not, you'de better stay as far away from this album as you possible can.
"Song number 6 (together with the second song we wrote for this album) is probably the most intense and extreme song we have ever written. The drums are beyond everything I've heard in my life. Matte [Modin] literally KILLED the drumset! Song number 7 did however get a bit more melodic touch. And it probably has the most catchy riff in the chorus on the album. Song number 8 has a very dark atmosphere and it's also one of the most symphonic songs that we have written for this record.
"On Monday [June 20] we'll begin to tune in a suitable guitar sound. And as soon as we've found the 'right' guitar sound for this killer album it's time for Chaq Mol and myself to lay down the guitar tracks.
"Matte finished recording the drum tracks for all the eight songs on Friday. What an amazing job he has done this time. Drum-wise it crushes everything he's done in the past. Impressive, impressive work indeed!!!
"Caligula is still busy writing the lyrics and as soon as they're completed, I will have him to put together an official presentation of them, so please be patient!
"Originally we had planned to have either Chaq Mol or myself to record the bass lines for this album, but now when we have a reference of what kind of an album we have created we have realised that it would be such a waste to not have a real and professional bass player do the job. We have however still not found anyone to do it yet, but we have a few names that we currently are contacting. I hope to have more info on this subject for you in the next report!
"If you thought our 'Diabolis Interium' album was 'hyper speed Black Metal', I'm not really sure how to label this one. It's so faaaaaar beyond 'hyper speed' that I can't find the right words for it. Be prepared for something that's beyond all sanity...."
